Tenaska Inc. requests air permits for new coal-fueled power plant

February 19, 2008 – On Tuesday, Tenaska Inc. filed an air permit application with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the first formal step in its plans to build a new coal-fueled power plant near Sweetwater, in Nolan County.
The $3 billion, 600-megawatt plant is still on the drawing boards, and the company will not make a final decision on whether to proceed with construction until 2009....
