Tenaska Representative Updates Sweetwater Rotary Club
May 18, 2009

Helen Manroe, Tenaska Manager of Business Development, visited the regular meeting of the Sweetwater Rotary Club today to provide an update on development progress for the Tenaska Trailblazer Energy Center.

She told members that, although there have not been any major announcements recently, Tenaska is working hard to resolve all the factors that go into the final decision on whether to build the plant in 2010.

Among many other items, Tenaska is working to solidify arrangements for water supply, obtain a final air quality permit and hire an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor to begin engineering design of Trailblazer. Tenaska’s final decision will also depend on financial factors, including state, local and federal incentives that contribute to the financial viability of the project.

Manroe compared development of a power plant to a Rubik’s Cube that, instead of having six sides, has 60 sides that all need to be lined up correctly to move forward.

Over all, Manroe said Tenaska is satisfied with the progress it has made over the last six months. She offered to continue giving updates to the group as major developments occur.
