Tenaska Purchases 505 Acres for Access
to Proposed Trailblazer Site

September 15, 2008

Tenaska has purchased land adjacent to its proposed site near Sweetwater, Texas, to provide more direct access from Interstate 20 to the Tenaska Trailblazer Energy Center property.

The new access will keep most of the traffic away from residents near the site, should Tenaska decide to build there.

Tenaska initially purchased a 1,919-acre site east of Sweetwater that is being developed as the plant’s location. The additional acreage will increase the site to more than 2,400 acres.

According to Helen Manroe, Tenaska manager of business development, the newly-acquired land will eliminate the need to bring vehicles and equipment to the construction site via Eskota or Stink Creek Roads. View a map of the property.

Tenaska is continuing project development. A final decision to proceed with construction of the project will depend on resolution of economic factors such as federal climate change legislation; awards of state incentives approved by the Texas Legislature; availability of local incentives; and issuance of necessary permits. Trailblazer construction is targeted to begin in 2009, with commercial operation in 2014.
