Harris joins as Community Representative
April 27, 2008
This week, Tenaska announced Lloyd Harris of Sweetwater will serve as community representative for the Tenaska Trailblazer Energy center and that it has established a local office.
Lloyd has been a resident of Sweetwater for 32 years. He retired in 2005 from Texas National Bank, where he served as executive vice president. He currently serves on the Texas National Bank board of directors. He and his wife, Melba, have two grown children.
Tenaska has developed 12 power projects over the last 20 years. We have learned that having a local presence in the community from the very beginning of the development process is helpful in providing information and answering questions.
Tenaska developers are in Sweetwater and the Nolan County area regularly these days. The local office, located in the Texas National Bank building, will provide a central gathering place for Tenaska representatives.

As a result of their discussions, Tenaska started running an informational advertising series to address some of those questions in the Sweetwater Reporter.
The first articles focused on the Trailblazer Energy Center’s unique ability to capture carbon dioxide and provide for its use in enhanced oil recovery efforts in the Permian Basin.

Project development leader answers questions in Sweetwater
April 3, 2008
Helen Manroe, manager of business development for Tenaska, addressed the Sweetwater Lions Club on April 2. She explained the positive impact the new Energy Center would have on the region. Helen reports that among the topics she addressed at the Lions Club meeting was electric transmission from the area. She explained that all generating sources for power on the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) share the cost of new transmission. Further, there is a process in place to balance the needs of transmission users when a new facility applies for interconnection to the ERCOT electric transmission grid.
