Newspaper editorial praises Trailblazer Energy Center project

The Fort Worth Star-Herald editorialized in favor of the Trailblazer project on March 28. The newspaper praised Tenaska for its leadership. "We need more Tenaskas on the energy and environmental fronts -- companies willing to stick out their necks and stretch their pocketbooks to give America not only more energy but cleaner energy."

Project engineers explain project to their professional peers

Tenaska Vice President for Environmental Affairs Greg Kunkel and Manager of Development Engineering Vasu Pinapati presented an overview of the Trailblazer project to engineering faculty and students at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
The two explained alternative carbon capture systems being examined for use at the Energy Center, noting that a pilot project utilizing ammonia capture and transfer technology, if successful, could lower the cost of carbon capture which has been modeled using amine-based technology.

Application for Permit Has Been Filed
March 10, 2008
The application for an Air Quality Permit was filed with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality February 17. The permit application is a process that expresses how Tenaska Trailblazer Energy Center intends to manage emissions within state and federal permit levels. A copy of the permit application is posted on this Web site.
Actions related to the filing are required to be taken within 60 days. A public notice published in the Sweetwater Reporter on March 7 spelled out the requirements to comment or take other actions.
